They restored some early Porsche gauges to a number 1 level for a concourse restoration and its excellent work. Pricy but very fair for what you get back. You can ask them for the best and they deliver. I highly recommend them for standard repairs or anything that simply must be perfect.

I have handled Porsche service since 2008. And since then I have sent ALL my clients gauges to North Hollywood Speedo. From 356 gauge rebuilds to fixing speedometers on 993s. We have now sent a few gauges off of cars for the Porsche restoration challenge, and North Hollywood Speedo does not disappoint. Always on time, always professional, and always cost effective. Recommended by a friend with a collectable Porsche, I needed my speedometer repaired on my '97 911 Targa. They did a fantastic job. Quick turn around. I shipped mine to them and they shipped it back. The first time I dealt with Hollywood Speedometer was in the late 60's when I lived in the LA Area and they restored the gauges in my '58 Speedster. Because of their excellent work, They were the only place I considered when I had instruments restored and altered for a couple of modified VW's. In the 70's, after I had purchased a 911 and moved to Reno, I used their services again for the different gauges I was adapting to it. Although I did not use Hollywood Speedometer for decades after this, I referred many people to them. Then, in the Summer of 2023, I imported a highly tuned VW Jetta Mk1 from Germany into Mexico and drove it to my home in Guadalajara. I wanted to install a gauge cluster from a Golf Mk2 Diesel but with a tachometer and fuel gauge from a Golf Mk2 G60, I also wanted to add a VDO oil pressure gauge, change the cluster lighting and replace the electrical plug from a Male/Female type to the later pin type. The printed circuit board also needed to be modified. Hollywood Speedometer was the only shop I considered to do this work and to make sure everything was understood, I hand delivered the two instrument clusters to them along with verbal instructions. I was quoted a price and a 2-3 week turn-around time. The job was finished in less than a week. As I expected, the work was perfect and I'm very happy. I highly recommend Hollywood Speedometer.

I had a wonderful experience at North Hollywood Speedometer today. The three employees (one woman and two men) were friendly and very helpful. Even though they were not able to help me with my rare gauges, they took the time to talk to me about each one and explained the various issues. They also gave me the names of a couple shops (out of state) that may be able to help me, which I greatly appreciate. The time the employees took with me and the knowledge they shared was invaluable. They did not have to do that knowing they could not help me with my gauges, but they did. I am truly grateful to the three wonderful employees at North Hollywood Speedometer. A+++

Super fast turnaround time: the odometer gear on my ‘78 911 stripped itself, and so I sent it in to get fixed rather than spend 3+ hours futzing with the gears, the fragile metal bezel, and my own time. Turned around in < 2 days and shipped back to me quickly. Works great. Packed securely. Will come back to have my tach cleaned up and re-redlined at 7k RPM.

Sent my mechanical VDO speedometer to them to have it recalibrated from MPH to KMH. In addition they also changed the trip meter to read in KMH’s as well as a new speedo face in KMH’s. Gauges work great , they did a first class job. I highly recommend them without hesitation.
